MARIA CRETA December 2, 1938 - July 21, 2000 Following a lengthy illness, it is with deep sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Maria, on July 21, 2000. She will be sadly missed by her husband Eugenio; sons, Tony (Francesca), Sal (Lorie) grandsons, Michael, Dallas, Brandon, Luciano and Marco; brothers, Rosario Adamo (Michelle Richard) and Giuseppe (Rosina). Maria was born in 1938 in Crotone, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1967 to make a better life for her family. Maria was a hard worker throughout her life, rarely missing a days work, until she was stricken by her illness. For the past two years she fought cancer with courage and great spirit, always showing a smile instead of a tear. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting as a hobby. Her great joy was spending time with her grandsons, the five musketeers as she called them. Also important to Maria were the many friendships she had made over the years. Maria was an extraordinary person. She always maintained a good attitude about life and never dwelled about her hardships. Her generosity and unconditional love will always be remembered by those who knew and loved her. Prayers will be said on Monday, July 24, at 7:30 p.m. in the Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Rd. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 25, at 2:00 p.m., also at Holy Rosary Church, with Rev. Fr. Sam Argenziano presiding at the Eucharist. Entombment to follow in the Chapel of Eternal Memories Mausoleum, 1501 Waverley St.
